The afternoon session will focus on the conservation challenges presented by the art of our time. Three case-studies from the collections at the Faculdade de Belas Artes of UP will illustrate these challenges and underscore the core activities that support conservation. These include, for example, the far-reaching impact of emerging technologies as artists’ media, the contributions of material science research into contemporary art materials, and the importance of dialog with artists in the care of their works.14.30 – 14.45 Welcome back
